Feb. 10, 2007: Wei-Ya #2

Friday morning I did some cartoon work. The script was translated from Chinese to English and translated quite well. However, this was not the final script! This was the script from the storyboards. When they actualy made the cartoon they used a vastly altered script. This means that there are large sections of cartoon that don't exist in the script. So we have to stop, listen carefully, translate the script and then dub it in. GRRRRRRRRR! However, the engineer from hell has left this studio which makes the process a lot less painful. Enough complaining.
In the afternoon I recorded Enjoy with Steve and Laurie. As always, a good time was had by all! Then, we went to our Wei Ya. Here are me and my goofy colleagues, Laurie and Steve.

Two other broadcasters who are delightful to work with, Karen and Wesley:

One of our fabulous (and completely crazy!) engineers, Doris:

Lovely Lily:

I was really, really tired at this party and ducked out early, about 9 pm. I went home and slept for almost ten glorious hours. Bliss!

Feb. 10, 2007: Wei Ya #1

Thursday night I went to a Wei Ya for one of the companies I work for. Traditionally the owner of a business will invite all of the employees for a slap-up dinner. There are also many prizes to be won (money and material goods.) As a free-lancer I am not eligible for the prizes but I still got to enjoy a lovely dinner! As my colleagues from this company are all vegetarian we had a meat/fish free dinner. There were ten courses of which I thought nine were delicious. (Don't ask me what the dishes were--I really don't know!)

Here's a photo of my colleague Tom, his daughter Charlotte and wife, Jeni. They are neat people. Tom has a very off-beat sense of humor which makes him fun to work with.

I am pictured with Lynn and Helen, two of the lovliest people I've worked with in Taiwan. When I had my accident last year they came to visit me in the hospital AND brought my pay to me!
